Contrary to an equal split approach, where higher consumers cover more expenses, this formula ensures each person pays in accordance with their order size.

For instance, if your items constitute 10% of the bill subtotal (the sum of all items before taxes or tips), then you would be responsible for paying 10% of the total bill amount, including tax and service fees.

The application conveniently computes your owed amount using the formula below, eliminating the need for manual calculations and reducing errors:

Amount owed = ( ( sum of your items ) / bill subtotal ) * bill total
