When dining out with a group, it is common for one person to cover the bill (referred to as "the host"), with others owing their respective shares. The process of splitting taxes and tips uniformly among group members can be a source of confusion.

This application enables you to efficiently determine your portion of the tax, tip, and reimbursement owed to the host. By having all individuals utilize this tool to calculate their dues, repayment accuracy is ensured, preventing any discrepancies in payments.

The app employs a formula that distributes taxes, tips, and additional costs in proportion to the size of your order—a method that promotes fairness in bill splitting. Contrary to an equal split approach, where higher consumers cover more expenses, this formula ensures each person pays in accordance with their order size.

For instance, if your items constitute 10% of the bill subtotal (the sum of all items before taxes or tips), then you would be responsible for paying 10% of the total bill amount, including tax and service fees.

The application conveniently computes your owed amount using the formula below, eliminating the need for manual calculations and reducing errors:

Amount owed = ( ( sum of your items ) / bill subtotal ) * bill total

Prior to calculation, inform the group about the utilization of this app for payment determination to foster clarity among all members.

Besides splitting restaurant bills, this tool can also be utilized for dividing expenses from shopping receipts, groceries, travel costs, and other financial outlays. Additionally, the app includes a tip calculation feature for added convenience.
